02Four words that are not synonyms
Steam cleaning, deep cleaning, disinfection and a dust-mite treatment get sold as the same service. They are not. Choose the type of mattress you have.
The springs are not the fragile part. The ticking, the padding and the comfort layer above the springs are, because they hold the water.
The most restrictive label in the market. TEMPUR's Singapore terms say do not steam-clean and do not dry-clean the TEMPUR foam.
Latex is durable and heat-sensitive. Many makers specify spot cleaning rather than wetting the core, and the wording differs by brand.
Two layers, two sets of instructions. The comfort layer on top may tolerate more, or less, than the core under it.
A zip-off cover with its own care label is a small win, and a common misunderstanding: washing the cover is not cleaning the mattress.
Thinner, smaller, usually the strictest instructions in the house, and the room where residual moisture matters most.
03What actually gets removed
Choose a layer of the bed to see what a machine can touch, and what stays where it is. This is the part most quotes leave out.
Vacuum lifts loose dust, skin flakes and surface fibre. Vapour loosens soil stuck into the weave. Extraction pulls soil out of what it wets. A visible result here is real: it is just a smaller claim than "the mattress is clean".
Open-cell foam takes on water and holds it. A clean reaches the cells the water or vapour enters — not the depth the machine cannot see. How long it then takes to dry depends on the foam, not on the promise on the flyer.
Springs do not need cleaning and foam cores cannot be reached from outside. Anything sold as a whole-mattress treatment is treating the surfaces it can touch, plus whatever wicks inward.
A closed seam is a shelter. Tape, piping and the fabric fold keep both the machine and the evidence out. If a quote says "all layers treated", ask which seams were opened.
The underside is where condensation and dust collect, and it is the side nobody flips. It is also the easiest place to check a job: if the underside was not touched, the mattress was not turned.

06Before anyone touches it
A professional clean does not extend a warranty, and it can void one. Choose a maker to read what applies.
Care: the Singapore terms say do not steam-clean or dry-clean the TEMPUR foam, and covers must be completely dry before use or storage. The restriction attaches to the foam, not to a removable cover.
Warranty: it covers a visible indentation of more than 2cm in the TEMPUR material, with 10 years on current mattresses. Softening, staining and a surface mark below that threshold fall outside it.
Care: read the label on your model rather than the brand in general; the instructions differ across ranges.
Warranty: Sealy's Singapore terms void the warranty where the mattress is soiled. A professional cleaning does not change that, and it is worth knowing before a stain becomes a reason to refuse a claim.

If there is no label left, we work from the material and tell you what we are assuming, in writing, before anyone starts.
07Who comes, and what we won't pretend
You are letting someone into the room where you sleep. The least we can do is describe the arrangement accurately.
08Questions we get asked first
Providers advertised S$38 to S$100 for a single mattress when we read the market on 29 October 2026. Our quote depends on the size, the method and the condition. Send the size and a photo and you get it the same day, before anything is booked.
No. TEMPUR's Singapore terms exclude steam cleaning and dry cleaning on the TEMPUR foam, and other makers restrict wet methods on latex and on some comfort layers. We check the label before we quote, not after we arrive.
Killing mites does not remove the allergen reservoir. Dead mites and their faecal material stay in the foam, and measuring a reduction needs an allergen-specific assay rather than a kill count.
NEA's own FAQ places cleaning at a premises occupied as a private residence outside the Cleaning Business Licence. Condominium common property stays inside it.
No. An enquiry is not a booking and no payment is taken. You pay after you accept the quote and the mattress has been cleaned.
There is no single timetable. The method, how much water went in and the conditions in the room all matter, so we give you a drying window for your mattress on the day instead of a universal number.
